a similarly uneventful day catching up and finally uploading the website. no catamarans for 2 weeks, and flyfishing will wait till barriloche. did the laundry, filled up the car, topped up the oil, bought some camping gas and bought enough Shanne-Nuss to take us to tierra del fuego. finally got our act together and got out of coyhaique about 7pm, so only made it as far as villa cerro chico (an hour south), before tiredness, nightfall and deteriorating weather forced us to stop. camping was not on the cards and we found an empty hostel off the main road, with a cosy double room above the kitchen. we used the empty restaurant’s kitchen to boil some water and pot noodled for dinner under a tv showing more terrible latin american tv soap operas with strange powers of mesmerization. e-j is falling asleep next to me, the sound of the laptop key presses drowned out by the wind rattling the roof and slamming raindrops horizontally against the window.
