an uneventful rainy sunday, unable to get any information on flyfishing or catamarans to the rafael glacier as all offices were closed, so we spent the day catching up on the website.  a group of 80 17-25 year old, mainly english kids had appeared from nowhere.  they were on the 9 week raleigh international challenge and many of them were off to the pharmacy for hydrogen peroxide to dye their hair.

highlights for me included e-j’s explanation of why nothing was open in the morning because (the nearby) “guildford shops don’t open until 11am on a Sunday either”, and over dinner when i reminded e-j that we had a 250g bar of Nestle’s Shanne-Nuss (like Cadbury’s Whole Nut) bar of chocolate in the rucksack for dessert, she burst into a tipsy grin, said “look my saliva glands have gone crazy”, and then stuck and held her tongue out for evidence.
